The Role: Senior Communications Engineer
Role Overview:
As a Senior Communications Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced communication and network systems. This role requires a deep understanding of both IT and OT environments, with a focus on networking protocols, infrastructure design, and operational technologies, particularly in the Power & Energy sectors. This is an initial 6 month day rate contract with the view to extend
Key Responsibilities and Experience: - Network Design & Implementation: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient network solutions, including VLANs, TCP/IP networks, VPNs, and other networking protocols.
- Operational Technology (OT) Focus: Leverage your expertise in OT systems, including SCADA, PLCs, and DCS environments, to ensure seamless integration with IT infrastructure.
- Communication Systems: Ensure high availability, security, and performance of communication systems supporting critical operational technologies, particularly in power and energy operations.
- Network Troubleshooting: Proactively troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Firewall Management: Configure, manage, and maintain firewalls (ASA/Palo Alto) to protect network resources.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, providing technical guidance and ensuring alignment with business and operational requirements.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain detailed network diagrams, technical specifications, and documentation for communication systems.
